Terms of use
Last updated EFFECTIVE DATE REQUIRED
SamePage is a small tool for deciding things with friends. These are the rules for using it. They are written plainly on purpose; the parts that still need a lawyer are marked as such rather than filled in with confident-sounding boilerplate.
Accepting these terms
By creating or joining a SamePage you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
Who can use it
MINIMUM AGE DECISION REQUIRED — a minimum age has not been set and must be before launch. You may not use SamePage if doing so would break the law where you are.
What you can use it for
Deciding things with people you know. You can create rooms, share the link, and take part. There is no charge, no account and no licence beyond that.
What you put in it
You are responsible for the questions, options and names you type. You keep whatever rights you already had in that content. You give SamePage permission to store it and show it to the people you share the room link with, which is the only way the product can work.
Anything typed into a room can be seen by anyone holding the room link. Do not put anything in a SamePage that you would not want forwarded.
What you must not do
- Harass, threaten, bully or target anyone.
- Post content that is illegal, or that promotes or facilitates something illegal.
- Impersonate someone else, including by using their name to make it look like they said something.
- Upload sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises minors in any way. This is reported, not just removed.
- Use SamePage to publish personal information about someone without their consent.
- Attack the service: probing for vulnerabilities, attempting to read other people's private data, enumerating room codes, overwhelming it with automated traffic, or bypassing the rate limits.
- Automate room creation or joining at scale, or resell access.
- Reverse engineer or interfere with how the service works for other people.
SamePage applies volume limits per user and length limits on everything you type. Trying to work around them is a breach of these terms.
Reporting a problem
If you find a room being used to harass someone, or you find a security flaw, tell us: CONTACT EMAIL REQUIRED. Please do not publish a security issue before we have had a chance to fix it.
Moderation
SamePage does not review rooms before they are created, and there is no automated moderation. It is a link you send to people you know. We may remove content or block access where we believe these terms have been broken, or where we are required to. We are not obliged to monitor, and not being able to catch everything is not a waiver of these terms.
Availability
SamePage is provided as-is and may be changed, interrupted or discontinued at any time, without notice. Rooms and results may be deleted. Do not rely on it to store anything you need to keep.
Ending access
We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken. You can stop using SamePage at any time, and the person who created a room can delete it.
Our content
The SamePage name, design, code and interface belong to LEGAL ENTITY REQUIRED. These terms do not give you rights to them beyond using the service as intended.
Disclaimers and liability
SamePage is provided without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. It decides where to get dinner; it is not fit for anything consequential and should not be used where an outcome matters legally, financially or medically.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY REQUIRES LEGAL REVIEW — the enforceable scope of any liability cap depends on jurisdiction and on the legal entity, neither of which is settled.
Governing law and disputes
GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION REQUIRED · ARBITRATION / DISPUTE RESOLUTION DECISION REQUIRED
Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The date at the top will change with them, and continuing to use SamePage after a change means accepting the new version.
